Mini lessons

Sticky Situation (Artistic Behavior Questions)

1. Create original art: I believe my art is original because everyone else instantly assumed "ICECREAM!" and other foods and I noticed no one had thought of cotton candy. I thought it would be a unique idea and I could layer a background to give the piece some "pop." I used a swirling brush stroke (creatively) to give my cotton candy a texture as if it was actually everyone's favorite fair treat.

2. Artist Collaborate: I got the idea to layer my background with black and white stripes after my fellow Student Hannah told me that's what she was doing (in a little different way) to her project. I realized I needed layering and that the black and white in the background would bring the pink in the cotton candy to the viewer's attention.

3. Artist solve problems: After getting "done" with my project Ms. Rossi told me that my cotton candy did not have enough value. I took it upon myself to fix the problem by shading and using swirled brushstrokes to add another dimension to my piece. If I wouldn't have solved this problem my art would appear more flat and "boring."

Up Close and Personal

Artist create original art-
This piece of art was thought of and drawn by me myself and I because i thoght it would be cool to show how there are different forms of an orange.
Plan-
My plan was always practicing with a pencil beforehand so I don't permanantly mess something up. You almost have to pace yourself and tell yourself not to work to fast and to focus on the drawing one thing at a time.
Think Creatively-
I tried to think about how I could make it not just one round orange on the paper and I ended up doing 3 forms of the orange to give the piece a little bit of diversity.

Scientific Project

How did you use your own unique ideas in your work?
I thought of doing an Alien for the scientific theme because I saw none of my other peers had thought of it and I generally don't run with the crowd. I thought i was pretty unique the way I made the planet in the background's ring ( I had to make it appear as if the other side of the ring went around the planet)

How is this artwork about who you are or what you like?
I personally am very outgoing most of the time and I'd like to invision if there were or are aliens they would be kind of wierd. I really tried to stray away from something boring such as a tree or something of that sort.

Did you consider his ideas would work before you tried them?
I actually had a second piece of paper by what I was working on at all times so if I thought of something I could test it out with ruining the final or draft. It helped to used tools around me for things like making a perfect circle for the planets; I would trace the circle on the scrap sheet to make sure it looks good first then I'd plan where to put it.
